it's time for story time again! how did we come up with the name for @audius? it is a portmanteau of "audio" and "us" - audio for all of us as is often the case with naming, we didn't like it at first (or anything else we came up with), but over time this one grew on us. It felt strong and sort of technical - like a greek god name - had a cutesy explanation, and tested well when we talked to folks we worried it was close to odious, but nobody has ever called that out to our surprise a year or so later, someone who worked on the show asked me if we named it after the Silicon Valley scene? confused, I asked him what he meant and he pulled up this Youtube video 😂 no, we didn't, but it's a hilarious coincidence and a great story to tell when people ask about the name. Gavin Belson was truly a trailblazer, ahead of his time
