There r many interviews ,where IAF #TejasMk1 pilots, saying, that new software updates fr Mk1 keep arriving.from ADA
Don't load your worthless prejudices on facts
It is trust issue between iaf and the supplier. Once sdi signs off on the handover of the software, contractually supplier is no longer responsible for the fix. Suppliers fix the issues urgently to maintain goodwill.

It's the job of DRDO labs & DPSUs
I agree with AVM Santosh that DRDO has it is own pace. Buy if a weapons integration that takes SDI 6 months takes ADA 6 years then it is beyond sloppiness. Best to force the AF to accept the 95% ready software so that no one discusses it anymore as a national security issue.

I am sure. Carbon fiber material has vendor lock in as an intrinsic property. It is basically cloth. Cloth from two different manufacturers are not identical in strength. Switching vendors requires restressing and recertification.

Makes no sense to do in mk1A
Mk1a is too small to accommodate the hardware changes to move to 6th gen fcs software. ADA can test fly the updated hardware software on a stripped down mk1a. A new platform like mk2 is not required to test the updated software.
