Lessons in here
The market punishes uncertainty over risks. It’s often better to fully realize a risk than to have it pending. When risks are uncertain, modeling their impact on an asset is theoretically open-ended, which means an asset can potentially be worth nothing and can’t be properly hedged either. Realizing a risk brings clarity, leading to more accurate and truthful modeling. It also allows for a shift in the narrative. In essence, the best bottoms are formed against the prevailing consensus, often in times of deep fear or anxiety, following a significant positive price reaction to the worst news. Times simply can’t get worse, thus they can often only get better, especially in prevalent market trends and themes seeing underlying growth. In this case we saw a week packed with the worst news possible, we failed to pass the clarity act and looked down at a break of support. Instead of failing, it held, and a day later the CFTC and SEC stepped in to support the growth of blockchain technology. All of this appreciation happened in the worst seasonality period, despite breadth crashing down to levels we haven’t seen since the start of the war. Sometimes the opportunities need to be seen out of an optimistic view, when the crowd is so bearish, yet the markets shrug it off and a narrative of growth appears. Ride the growth trend, with contrarian entries or adds on confirmation.

If you told me an exchange adopted one of these chains, I'd be all over that. The values of those tokens would go through the roof because that is going to be the platform by which tokenization is supported on that exchange. That's the next big thing. So who's gonna get it? Everybody is trying to figure this out. I don't think it's gonna be Ethereum anymore. I don't think it's fast enough or secure enough. That's my own opinion, but clearly they would've had it already.

I have to take a moment to talk about what just happened and why @keccakdog and my devs are so amazing. We work way to much so we are always online. We instantly see the news and know that the hacker has AVAX, and we see that its actually on-chain. It was pretty obvious selling was going to occur so we turned off fee algorithms that are automatic on these pairs and cranked them manually for the inevitable. He dumps over the course of 2 hours, we missed some, but captured a massive amount (150k ish in 2 hours). We really do have the best tech and best devs, because I almost guarantee most dexes would have just sat idle but we saw opportunity for our holders from a bad situation. Not trying to dunk on anyone I just wanted to commend my devs for all the efforts they put in that make us so nimble and quick to respond to wild situations that happen in our space.

Helicon is finally live on Avalanche! Three ACPs change how staking works on @avax, here's a thread that is worth a read for those who are staking AVAX 👇
Helicon is live. - Continuous Execution for a faster C-Chain - Auto-renewing staking - 48-hour minimum staking periods - Stronger validator requirements - A new reward curve designed to reduce AVAX issuance Helicon brings more performance, better capital efficiency, and stronger economics to Avalanche. Helicon is one of our biggest upgrades yet, and lays the groundwork for larger upgrades to come.

Suddenly pretty bullish on @avax Their summit was excellent, but it’s really the announcements they’ve secured recently around it, and the focus those announcements show. Blockchains die from a lack of differentiation. There are too many of them. We only need a few. Yours needs to be about ONE thing, and that thing needs to be defensible. Memecoins are NOT defensible. Meme traders dgaf where they trade. They follow liquidity. Look how rapidly activity can rotate from one ecosystem to another, like what happened with Robinhood vs Solana. Memes are basically impossible for a chain to own. An app can own them, like @fomo or @Pumpfun, but a chain can’t. But massive institutional deals with enterprise companies and nation states? Those are defensible as hell. And sovereign interoperable L1s are literally Avalanche’s original thesis. So seeing them full-circle to focus on that original positioning, and actually execute on it at a very high level, makes the whole thing feel much more coherent to me. Will that make number go up? Absolutely no idea. That’s its own question. But can it make Avalanche money as a business and give them a repeatable, scalable model that lets them own and defend a unique lane in this insane industry? Absolutely. And that’s probably more important to long-term survival than number go up. At least barely.
