When Europeans first settled the Great Plains, so many of them developed mental issues that "Prairie Madness" was coined. Severe isolation combined with the flattest land, lack of trees, and extremely bipolar weather literally broke many of them.

obesity during pregnancy causes autism it's not a difficult case to crack - simple anecdotal observation is enough
I won again! A new study on Tylenol and autism has come out. It leveraged a recall in 1982 to show that the affected cohort—which saw greatly reduced Tylenol usage in utero—saw no deviation from trend in autism diagnoses down the line. Tylenol does not cause autism.

the basic problem with Linux distributions is that the people qualified to maintain them are generally very employable, so the people who have both the aptitude and free time to do it are adversely selected for mental illness

This is a picture of Beicha. It's a small village of 128 people near Döbeln, in Middle Saxony. On 26 Sept., the villagers held a little village 'Oktoberfest,' sponsored by their local volunteer fire department. The kind of thing many municipalities across Germany are doing right now. Five migroids showed up, got drunk and started pissing in someone's garden. A fireman told them off, they left angry but they returned in four cars. Now there were nine of them. They attacked the lingering revelers at the village party, using beer mugs and broken bottles as weapons. They wounded nine people, putting six of them in hospital. Witnesses said there was blood everywhere. After the bloodbath the migroids fled. Police stopped one of the fleeing cars, took IDs, but let them go – no hard grounds for arrest. They are presently 'investigating.' The day after their attack ,some of the nine returned to the village to tell the villagers they'd burn their houses down if they talk. Wir schaffen das.

didn't know the Celtic root word was the same as Greek - very cool
King Arthur's name comes from artos (bear), kin to Artio, the Celtic bear goddess still remembered in the bears of Bern, Switzerland. Stone Age inheritance.

i worked with psychiatrists for a while and they are all like this
TIL this amusing term. I found out it comes from a Greek tale about a cobbler who saw the artist Apelles had painted a sandal wrong. Apelles fixed the goof. The shoemaker started criticizing the leg. Apelles said, "Sutor, ne ultra crepidam" (Shoemaker, not beyond the shoe.)

🚨INCREDIBLE: A quick-thinking mother uses her car to block a busy road and rescue a 3-year-old toddler wandering alone in traffic! Jabril Walls had just dropped her own children off at school and was driving through the Frayser neighborhood when she spotted something terrifying: a tiny little girl standing defenseless in the middle of a busy street. Without a second thought, Jabril pulled her car over and positioned it across the lane to block incoming traffic. She opened her car door and opened her arms—and the frightened, crying toddler ran straight into her embrace asking for her mommy and daddy. Jabril and her grandmother teamed up to help the child, following her small clues like a gray-and-white house nearby and a pair of shoes left on the sidewalk, before driving her to a local fire station to get law enforcement involved. The story came full circle with a happy ending, as Jabril stayed in touch with the family, was invited to the little girl's birthday party, and was officially named her godmother!
