Is the Western Cape ready for the risks associated with ENSO? Join us LIVE on Thursday to find out.
ENSO is a global climate cycle driven by changes in ocean temperatures in the Pacific Ocean. Even though it starts thousands of kilometres away in the tropical Pacific, it acts like a giant atmospheric “see-saw” that alters weather patterns across the globe, including our region.
As we head into summer, we are hosting a live briefing on the province's preparedness for El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) conditions, such as extreme heat and potential water challenges.
Joining the discussion:
👉 Minister Anton Bredell (Local Government, Environmental Affairs & Development Planning)
👉 Dr Colin Deiner (Head: Provincial Disaster Management Centre)
👉 Karen Shippey (Chief Director: Environmental Sustainability)
