Unless the AIs are building affordable houses and curing cancer, normal people simply are not going to care. Normal people will experience 'the Singularity' as 'great, another company firing me and replacing me with an AI, now I'm even poorer than before.'

Cardanoscan is no longer the Cardanoscan you remember. That is not an easy sentence to write. We’ve moved beyond the old homepage. Today, we’re unveiling a redesigned Home Page with DeFi, chain stats, network activity, and more. New home. Same chain. cardanoscan.io/

🚨🇮🇹 Meloni announces a BURQA BAN in schools, plus a LIMIT on the number of foreign students per class!! "The proposed measure will introduce an obligation for the parents of foreign students with serious school-integration problems to learn Italian, and it will introduce a BAN on the burqa and niqab at school. In Italy, nobody, in the name of a real or supposed tradition, can decide that a young woman must hide herself. Equality between men and women is not negotiable. It is not negotiable on our streets and it is not negotiable in our schools." Brava, Giorgia 👏👏👏 Writer: Michael

Worth reading Superintelligence by Bostrom. We need to be super careful with AI. Potentially more dangerous than nukes.

This is one of my favorite podcasts I have done in a while. It contains I think my to date best description of what I think a good world looks like.
NEW: ControlAI's US Executive Director Connor Leahy is on @TomBilyeu's Impact Theory podcast! @NPCollapse explains why superintelligent AI isn't just a tool, but something fundamentally different. It would be the biggest adversary we've ever created. piped.video/watch?v=ZqiS0tLA…

Australian engineer Bobby Gallagher built a truck-sized 1 MW nuclear microreactor the Unity Nuclear Battery that can run for years without refuelling. It is illegal to build or operate here because of Australia’s ban on nuclear power. The US is now commercialising it. We banned the technology and exported the talent. Lift the ban. Let small modular reactors compete. Cheap, reliable, zero-emissions power should not be off-limits because of ideology. Chris Bowen and Anthony Albanese: this is a policy failure, not a secret. Australians pay the price because of your corruption!

Internal monitoring and independent observation see different things. Telstra’s review of its July mobile outage found that gaps in visibility contributed to delays in identifying the underlying problem. There’s a wider telecom lesson here. Internal monitoring asks: What does the network say is happening? Independent observation asks: What actually happened at the edge? Did the service arrive? Did it behave as expected? What did the device experience? As networks become more complex and automated, both views matter. Unetwork creates independent observation points across devices operating on live networks, adding another layer of evidence from the physical edge. Observability is stronger when the system being observed is not the only source of evidence. Extended Telemetry enters production on September 7.

Two incidents occurred in Melbourne on 17 August. For one incident—the Sydney Swans allegations—ABC has published over 50 separate stories on its news website. Yet on the very same day, two women in Melbourne were stabbed from behind in random attacks and hospitalised—and there is not a single story about these stabbings on the ABC website. It’s time to defund the ABC—they don’t report the news; they peddle agendas.
MELBOURNE: While the media are in a meltdown over a few AFL players (who haven’t even been charged) being accused of underpaying and groping a stripper …… Meanwhile, with everyone distracted, two women in Melbourne (one aged 53 and the other 29) have been stabbed from behind and hospitalised in a random attack - and the story goes virtually unreported. police.vic.gov.au/man-charge…

A Cardano Success Story We had our best revenue day in @wayupio history yesterday. This has certainly been a bright spot for our team. We ran Wayup for almost 2 years at a deficit because we believed in the vision. We almost shut it down multiple times. Instead we stuck it out, and finally made the meme of the diamonds a reality. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last 2 years. and people say NFTs are dead! I hate to break it to ya, but RWAs are NFTs!

There is some serious irony in this 😅 This was an Info action which required depositing 100k ada to the treasury to simply mark a milestone and share a message of hope for the future. Now, when trying to get the 100k back, the request can’t muster enough DRep support to just simply vote on it (Yes or No)😢 Is this a signal of what this community has become? There was a time when we would have rallied around in support. Now we are too focused on paying tens of millions to make sure we “win”, that we can’t even help the little guy get funds from the treasury that should never have been there.

Scout & Runner is now live in full public Beta. This marks a major milestone for Unetwork as Scout & Runner moves beyond ScoutQuest and staged access into the full Beta platform. Scout & Runner is a third-party opt-in task provided by ApexTelecom and hosted by Unetwork. Both roles are now available: • Scout Role • Runner Role Users can now access the platform and begin participating in the next phase of real-world telecom validation. Scout & Runner brings real operators, real devices, and real mobile networks together to help verify carrier connectivity and strengthen telecom intelligence at global scale. To access the platform: • Open the Tasks tab in the Unetwork app • Select Connectivity Verification • Enter the Scout & Runner Beta platform • Register for the Runner Role, or apply for one of the limited Scout seats available in your country Please note: Scout & Runner remains in public Beta, so users may encounter minor bugs or flow adjustments as the platform is tested, refined, and scaled. This is the next phase of S&R: broader access, deeper validation, and more real-world telecom intelligence flowing through the network. Real devices. Real operators. Global verification.
