An investigation by the Israeli outlet HaMakom (המקום הכי חם בגיהנום) reports that soldiers from the Nahal Brigade’s 50th Battalion found an elderly Palestinian woman in a combat zone in Gaza and decided to evacuate her. She was bound and blindfolded and placed in a military vehicle with three soldiers. According to testimony collected by HaMakom, the officer accompanying her received a phone call, stopped the vehicle, took the elderly woman out, and shot her dead. One soldier described it as “the execution of an elderly woman who was supposed to be evacuated.”

[...] The trigger finger was very light. People lost their humanity” Rafah Paramedic Massacre: "These were clearly identifiable as emergency vehicles, even when ground fire opened on them. Without any apparent reason, the ground troops stormed the convoy. They shot at the first vehicle, the medical staff exited, hid behind the ambulances and pleaded for their lives, and the soldiers shot them, one after another." “After this incident, I realized that anyone can kill whoever they want, as much as they want, and they won't be held accountable for it.” “According to [the testifier], the bodies were buried on the spot, and the ambulances were run over by a Caterpillar D9 armored bulldozer and covered with earth. ‘For me, something broke there. I felt that I wasn't just witnessing a challenging operational event, but an entire system capable of containing it and moving on as if nothing had happened.’ Retroactive incrimination: "I canceled attacks in droves, I said that only if there was a direct and immediate threat would I attack. Then all sorts of justifications began to emerge retroactively: 'He came for a weapons deal;' 'He touched the ground, maybe he's planting an explosive device.' In my opinion, they tried to incriminate people without intelligence and without proof, retroactively, just to create a justification for an attack." Yellow Line: “My counterparts and my friends didn't want to approve every attack either. Everyone understood there was a problem here. Especially in the agricultural areas, we refused to accept 'the division commander's line,' and adhered as much as possible to the original Yellow Line that appeared on the maps." “The Yellow Line is basically concrete barriers on the ground. The division commander decided, on his own, to push them westward, sometimes for hundreds of meters, creating a new border. From the perspective of a farmer entering his land – he doesn't understand at all that he's walking into an area that the IDF suddenly decided was a firing zone” Moral injury: This soldier also described experiencing what is known as “moral injury,” a form of psychological harm resulting from exposure to events perceived as fundamental violations of one’s moral values. There is no doubt that Palestinians bear the harshest consequences of Israel’s occupation. They are routinely killed, tortured, and deprived of their basic rights. Most of the daily atrocities committed against Palestinians do not even make the news, they simply become statistics. At the age of 18, we were the ones sent to maintain this oppressive system, one that only perpetuates violence. This system is immoral and irreformable. It must be abolished. Israel is dismantling Palestinian collective life in the West Bank. A catastrophe is unfolding across the West Bank. Checkpoints, expulsions, killings and land takeovers are not separate events or isolated human rights violations. They are part of the same system. It is time to connect the dots. Our new report, The Elimination Project, shows how these mechanisms form one political project: dismantling Palestinian collective life while expanding Israeli control and Jewish presence. Since late 2022, and especially since October 2023, this process has accelerated and become more openly violent. Palestinians live under constant threat from soldiers and armed settler militias. Since 7 October 2023, Israel has killed 1,107 Palestinians, including 245 children. State-backed settler farms and outposts seize vast areas, communities are expelled, and movement restrictions fragment Palestinian space. Israel is also strangling the Palestinian economy, criminalizing political and social organizing, shutting down civil society organizations and arresting journalists and activists. Together, these mechanisms cut Palestinians off from land, livelihoods and one another, dismantling the conditions they need to exist as a people – with institutions, leadership, shared history and a political future. The Elimination Project is not new. Its logic has shaped Israeli policy for decades through dispossession, fragmentation, military rule and apartheid. In 2017, Bezalel Smotrich published the “Decisive Plan,” centered on making Jewish-Israeli control irreversible. It gives Palestinians three options: relinquish their collective aspirations and live under Jewish supremacy, leave, or face military repression. Under the current government, central elements of this vision are being translated into policy, budgets, powers and practices. In Gaza, this logic has reached its most extreme manifestation: the genocide Israel is committing there. The international community must stop treating Israel’s violence and violations as isolated incidents, stop enabling Israel’s crimes, and end the impunity that allows the Elimination Project to continue. I work in aid, and when people ask who to support I always say MSF. MSF, wherever I’ve been, are right there on the front, in dangerous conditions, in isolated outposts, providing life saving support. They’re heroes. UK lawyers for Israel are not fit to wash their scrubs.

Funny isn’t it how Israel now seek to discredit all those NGOs who have witnessed first hand the criminal atrocities of the IDF in Gaza and the West Bank. Coincidence I’m sure. 🤔
