There is a new tool on BioIcons to turn any protein (in PDB format) into a 2D vector illustration in SVG format. You can upload any PDB file or import from PDB, AlphaFoldDB or ESMFoldDB. Feedback welcome :) bioicons.com/pdb2vector/

This is great! Definitely a needed tool for presentation images. I noticed that when working with a pdb that contains lots of chains, the chain color selector runs off the screen and there is no scroll bar to change the colors of chains lower in the list, probably an easy fix!

Thanks for the tweet! is the server not supporting DNA-protein complexes?

I haven't tried those. Are those failing for you? What's the pdb code you're trying ?

Any advice on how to run the tool for local pdb files, I'm not sure if it's loading or vectorizing

I'll check this. Local pdb file upload is broken at the moment.

Would it be possible to make a .ico file as well?

You can use Inkscape to generate ico files from the SVG.

Uploading your own .pdb file doesn't seem to work for me? :( Even downloading straight from RCSB PDB and then uploading the file doesn't seem to load at all. Fetching the same PDB ID works okay...

The antibody (1IGT?) is upside down! Pretty cool tool though

That looks awesome. Looking forward to use it on local pdb and cif files when this is fixed.
