HSBC Bank has to be one of the worst, and probably the slowest, when it comes to resolving issues and getting in touch with their customer care team. 😑 The HSBC x Accor bonus transfer failed on 14th August. I tried reaching out to customer care on call, but no luck. Somehow managed to get through to chat support, where I was asked to raise a secured message. Did that exactly as instructed and submitted it. Since then, ZERO update. And now even customer support has no answers. Another issue is my June DC cashback, which HSBC still hasn't processed, citing the new T&Cs that came into effect from 1st August 2026. How does a change effective from August apply to transactions done in June? I have enough documentation and proof for both issues to take this up with the RBI if required. Anyone else facing issues with HSBC? Especially with either of these: 1️⃣ Accor bonus transfer failed 2️⃣ Debit card cashback for spends made before the new T&Cs

⚠️ Always verify your accelerated reward points. Last month I had maxed out the 6x accelerated rewards on HSBC TravelOne for flight bookings. Later, while reconciling my statement, I noticed almost 6k points were missing. Reached out to HSBC support and after verification, the missing points were credited. A small reminder for everyone: Whenever you maximize accelerated reward categories on any credit card, always reconcile the points earned against what you were expecting. Banks can have inconsistencies too, and if you don't check, you may never notice missing rewards.

🚨 HDFC Infinia / SmartBuy devaluation is here... and this one hurts. Well, it now feels like HDFC’s January rollback wasn’t really driven by social media outrage after all, and this latest move makes that quite clear. From the latest update, voucher reward points on SmartBuy / Gyftr are now capped at 3,000 points per month, down from 15,000 points. Honestly, the previous devaluation from 5x to 3x was far better. At least it still allowed around 10% returns on vouchers up to a decent 15k/m. This change is far more brutal. ❌ Mandatory ₹18L annual spends introduced to retain Infinia benefits ❌ Now voucher rewards capped from 15k to 3k points per month It's becoming increasingly clear that HDFC wants to reduce the value proposition for reward optimizers. We've already seen similar moves across the industry. • Axis removed voucher multipliers long ago. • ICICI iShop reduced rewards on several popular brands. • Now HDFC is tightening SmartBuy as well. Let's start with the arrival experience. The lobby and reception area are absolutely stunning. Modern, elegant and unlike anything else currently in Mumbai. The design language immediately tells you this is not a traditional luxury hotel.
