SgtMaj Rodriguez leaves behind an honorable legacy of disciplined leadership – from Operations DESERT STORM and ENDURING FREEDOM, to multiple drill instructor tours at Marine Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina.
For 35 years, SgtMaj Rodriguez embodied the Marine Corps’ motto of Semper Fidelis. His impact on warfighters and his leadership at the SOUTHCOM headquarters will leave a lasting impression. Across the Western Hemisphere, he profoundly influenced Partner Nation military leaders, as he worked shoulder-to-shoulder with them to develop their enlisted leadership programs.

Multinational maritime cooperation in action to disrupt drug trafficking operations.
📣 @ArmadaColombia and Dutch forces, using a maritime patrol aircraft, intercepted a go-fast vessel north of La Guajira in the Colombian Caribbean. During the operation, authorities seized a total of 297 kilograms of cocaine valued at more than $13 million.
The operation resulted in:

⚖️ 297 kilograms of cocaine seized
👥4 detained Venezuelan nationals were detained during the operation.

Jungle training in Peru:
The jungle environment cannot be simulated — its demands on the warfighter are absolute. To fight and win, warfighters must possess rigorous physical conditioning, mental resilience, and unwavering discipline. At the unit level, success requires absolute mastery of small-unit tactics, decentralized leadership, and adaptive logistics.
During Exercise Southern Vanguard in Peru, U.S. Soldiers conducted field and command post training alongside Argentine, Chilean, and Peruvian counterparts. Operating in the demanding, austere terrain of the Amazon, the multinational force simulated real-world contingencies to master this highly complex environment.

En lo que va de 2026, estas fuerzas han incautado aproximadamente 44 toneladas métricas de drogas ilícitas en su lucha contra las organizaciones criminales que amenazan las aguas costarricenses.

OVER 260,000 TOTAL POUNDS OF COCAINE SEIZED IN OPERATION PACIFIC VIPER.
Over the course of six days in the Eastern Pacific, the @USCG Cutter Tampa seized more than 25,000 pounds of cocaine in three interdictions, bringing the total amount of cocaine seized in Operation Pacific Viper to more than 260,000 pounds.
Under the leadership of President Trump and @SecMullinDHS, we will continue to defeat the narco-terrorists and stop the flow of deadly drugs into our country.
