Finally re-watched Forgotten Island after seeing it at CinemaCon in April and it’s just as magical, but with the VFX complete. Yes, it’s steeped in Filipino folklore but it’s also filled with Easter eggs that all Filipinos are going to love and laugh about. The score, which wasn’t finished when I watched it, has some moments that if you listen carefully has strategically placed Tagalog in it. Filipinos everywhere should be proud of this one, it’s a true spotlight on Filipino culture and values that everyone can appreciate. It’s universal enough in its themes of friendship that people of all ages can relate. One of Dreamworks’ best. Tayo na! 🇵🇭 #ForgottenIsland

Word of mouth should give Forgotten Island a boost but its domestic opening weekend has me worried for Wildwood. We need to prove to Hollywood that animation isn’t a babysitter genre and that can only be done by supporting original and non-commercial animated films like this.
