We are watching an attempted murder in real time.
Wilber remains gravely ill, with the bullet still lodged in his body, and he remains in ICE detention.
According to the detainee who spoke with his wife, Wilber appeared discolored, extremely swollen, and in significant pain.
Our immediate demands are clear: restore Wilber’s communication privileges and take him back to the hospital. He needs access to appropriate medical care.

This was one of the more interesting arguments Zohran Mamdani made today at the U20 Mayors Summit, and a reminder that he can be genuinely sharp when he drops the “central casting” routine.
“In New York City, there are certain words that have taken on ideological associations.”
“Quality of life has come to be seen as somehow a right-wing concern. Efficiency… has been taken on as a right-wing concern, rooting out fraud and waste, a right-wing concern.”
Mamdani’s argument is that refusing to engage those issues actually helps the Right.
“If you are staring at an example of social disorder or social inefficiency, and the left refuses to explain either why it has happened or how they will fix it, then the right gets to point at someone in the immediate area and say, ‘That’s who did it.’”
The harder question is how much of the broader Left is actually prepared to follow the advice.

Claiming charlatan Mamdani is “politically skilled” for meeting Trump for the third time in less than a year and building a partnership with the aspiring dictator is beyond dumb.
That’s like saying Stalin was “politically skilled” for his pact with Hitler.
Can understand why Republicans/Centrist Dems despise Mamdani. He gets things done. He works for the people. Not the donor class.
But the Purity Police on the so-called Left who whine about his meeting with Trump? It's obvious you don't understand skilled political maneuvering.

On Monday afternoon, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the most prominent elected member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), welcomed Donald Trump to Gracie Mansion, the mayor’s official residence. After an hour behind closed doors, the two walked out together to a podium on the lawn.
What followed was a disgusting spectacle, with the “socialist” mayor playing host and prop to the fascist president.
This was Mamdani’s third meeting with Trump in 10 months, following two at the White House. The regularity of these meetings, combined with what Mamdani himself acknowledges is an ongoing conversation with Trump “in person” and “over the phone,” makes clear that one is dealing with a definite orientation and program. The DSA, in the person of its leading public official, has formed a political alliance with Trump.
