No. People have been strapped to chairs for abuse since we've had them. There were just wrist and ankle bracelets, same as for the electric chair (with accompanying zaps).
It's just that the description used by the scriptwriter for the channel matches a lot of what you put into that sequence in that episode so I just wondering if maybe you were aware of those specific Amnesty International reports?

The Technomage (not Galen) who took matters into his own hands to cook up the virus died in the process. But mission accomplished.

The Drakh were literally destroyed from within. Poison the keeper egg farms with slow acting, ridiculously virulent plague before being implanted/grown in the Drakh, and by the time they figure out what's going on, it's too late.

Logical follow up, if you do not mind me asking, how would one be free of the keeper influence?
I assume there is a third option other than dying and/or destroying the Drakh race, based on David being keeper free (maybe?) as of the events of the final episode.

Something for everyone is nothing for anyone.
Me complaining about this aside, they're never going to do Martin Gero's Stargate--it's clear as day.
That said, the #SaveStargate campaign has undoubtedly been heard loud and clear. If there's any hope left, it's that we've at least convinced whoever is spearheading the writing team and new showrunners to be faithful to what the core of Stargate is.
I wouldn't count "in the existing canon" as an impossibility, but let's be reminded that in new Trek, they tried to retcon things into the old canon to force their own (very) unique take on Trek to satisfy the old guard. It did get a few on board, but it also divided the fandom sharply, particularly along political lines, as the publicity and showrunners were exclusively catering to one group of people.
This is not what we need in Stargate, which has somehow always catered to everyone. How is that possible, then? Because it knew what it was and was made for people who love military sci-fi and wanted a deep experience.
The opposite is also true: make someone for everyone, and you please almost no one.

I only caught that at the last moment in the galleys from the publisher, too late to change it. Such is life.
That must have been a mistake or author choice in Book 3 of the “Legions of Fire” trilogy that gave the solution to saving David Sheridan as simply killing the Drakh that spawned the keeper, as Vir and Garibaldi deduced (granted it was a novel and not your work).

The only thing required was to check his body and metabolism to make sure that he would survive the merging, and that the keeper would survive it; same as when you give blood, you want to make sure it goes to the right person.
That was my confusion. I assumed that the host was genetically prepped to be compatible with the keepers and Drakh controller based on the abduction and procedures done on Londo just prior to getting his keeper, as in the keeper was his and his alone. It couldn’t body jump.

Forgot to add: killing the Drakh that supplied the keeper wouldn't kill or disable it, it'd just change frequencies. And since the one on Londo died with him, and there wasn't a nearby Drakh (and Vir knew what was going on) he knew to stay clear.

Technically not correct on both counts. To pull out a keeper kills both; they're not made for one person; when the Regent's keeper left, it died soon afterward, which was why the Drakh had to supply another one like a parasitoid or emerald wasp .

I understand, but when you write "Joe is writing this," without clarifying that this is a thought experiment, people tend to believe that I'm writing something...and my email loads up. A note to always be careful when invoking someone's name as working on something.
Apologies. The open world Real Ghostbusters game was just a thought I had, as I’ve been thinking we need another story by JMS. At first, I pitched a 40th anniversary comic, but I thought an open world video game would be better. Either way, all pure imagination and nothing real.
