If you visit someone's house, and one of the first things you notice is the dust on their chandelier, the dust on their tv, the dust on their table, don't ever go back to that person's house. Not because their house isn't clean but because your heart isn't. Someone opened their door to you. They welcomed you into their home with an open heart. They shared their time, their food, their laughter and their space, and instead of appreciating their hospitality, you focused on their imperfections. That's says far more about you than it does about them because people with grateful hearts notice kindness. Before they notice flaws. It's about honoring the heart that welcomed you with love and kindness. And all you bring into someone's home is judgment and negativity. And maybe the place that needs cleaning isn't their house. It's your heart.

OR you simply notice the dust because you’re observant, detail oriented and cleaner. Literally nothing wrong with that.

Spare me the guilt trip. A little dust is okay, but if your house looks like complete squalor, the problem isn't my lack of gratitude—it’s your complete lack of self-respect and basic decency.

Noticing dust and judging someone for it are two different operations, and this collapses them into one. Plenty of people notice everything and say nothing — that's usually the same attentiveness that makes them good guests.

House covered top to bottom in dried dog poop. So much dog poop the stain proof linoleum has actually stained. The stench overwhelming. Dog poop just everywhere. For the love of god so much dog poop. “Guess I’ll eat this chocolate pudding, I’m not an ungrateful douche bag”

I’ve been in houses which I noticed had a grimey feel to them bur I didn’t mind, that was just a sign the house has been lived-in. I was very much appreciative of being allowed in in the first place instead of judging the cleanliness of them.

I can notice and not judge. I can notice and not pay attention. Your writeup is a pure example of how someone can confidently express themselves eloquently while spilling gibberish.

Shut up, I have eyes, I can see the dust. You assume I’ll judge them, but I won’t. Judging me without knowing me just shows your heart is worse than mine.

Even if you do not notice these things at first, you eventually will. And maybe there's a reason behind it. The people living there are bedridden, or lost a loved one or just strong wind brought hell of a dust with it yesterday. But if second time you visit them and

This seems like a post by someone who lives in a basement. There people you'd go to their house and you'll hardly find a single spot to sit down because of how messy everywhere is in their home.

You can observe that there’s dust on the TV or chandelier without concluding that the person is dirty, lazy, or irresponsible. The real issue is what you do with the observation, whether you use it to understand the situation or to condemn the person.

Id say the biggest exception is when said household has a frequent ant infestation. Were talking lines of ants crawling all over the kitchen and dishes. Damn straight I always pointed that shit out. My friends household for many years never solved the problem till they moved.

True, I’ll never make someone feel embarrassed for bringing me into their home. Even when I notice anything, I act like I didn’t. If I’m not cool with it, I’ll rather not come back to that house than say it.

Noticing dust is not the same as judging the person. You can observe something without it becoming a verdict on their character. The issue is what you do with the observation, whether you file it as a flaw or simply register it and return your attention to the person who invited you in...

My house is pretty clean, 90% of the time very clean...I kinda hate it. But I hate it even more when I go to a friends house...I feel like I can be more...me, when I am not worried about leaving a fingerprint or a shoe mark on something. I have friends that have both.
