I’ve spent the last few days working with several D1 and D2 hitters before they head back to college this fall.
Here’s what separates them from younger hitters:
• Their adjustments between misses happen faster
• They slow down between reps and intentionally reset
• They celebrate good takes just as much as good hits
• When an adjustment is needed, they make it dramatically
• They smile and genuinely enjoy their hitting sessions
• I can push them harder because they aren’t afraid to fail
The difference isn’t that college hitters never miss—it’s how they respond when they do.
