Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr
Thank you @KenSkatesMS. We need Natural Resources Wales to undertake soil and water testing, and Public Health Wales to set up a voluntary blood testing programme. Without test results in hand, we won't be able to move forward. Welsh Government has the power to make this happen.

You cannot put borders on Welsh Power. Wales wasn’t built by people who retreated. Wales was built by people who went out and changed the world. Hopeful. Ambitious. Rooted in solidarity. 👆 Speaking at #Labour party conference today.

Women and girls should be able to live their lives free from violence and abuse. But when these crimes happen, we need a justice system that properly supports victims. So we’re making changes.

The bereaved families of military personnel should always be at the heart of our acts of remembrance as a nation. The extension of free rail travel to next of kin on national rail services to events between 7 and 8 November is the right thing to do. This is the first time this has been made available and builds on the existing free travel offer for serving personnel and veterans. I am proud this Government is acting to make our national acts of remembrance a little easier for those for whom the day is so deeply personal.

I'm proud this government is pushing ahead with clean power but I also applaud the previous government for all the renewables they deployed over 14 years. The problem was they didn't build the grid to connect them. Don't ask Andrew who the Minister for Networks was...
🥀 This is what Labour’s rush to Net Zero is doing to bills - £100 extra for every household in Britain. 🥀 That’s £8 BILLION being paid to turn wind farms OFF when it’s too windy and turn Gas power station ON. 🥀 It’s absolutely mad. And we need change. 🇬🇧 The Conservative Cheap Power Plan will deliver cheaper power, quicker.

Pay attention. There are thousands of contaminated land sites across Wales and next to nothing is being done about it. @WelshGovernment @NatResWales - test these sites now.

I won't stand for cuts to Powys healthcare - I'll be standing with my constituents, who know they will bear the brunt of them.

You can now watch every question I asked about PCB contamination in Wales during Welsh Affairs Committee evidence sessions between April 2025 and July 2026, including the full response to each, on YouTube. Watch here: youtube.com/watch?v=2PKKN3dz… My constituents deserve the truth.

I welcome the measures announced this afternoon by the Foreign Secretary regarding illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, including a ban on the import of goods. Today marks a firm step in the right direction towards peace in the region.

I have asked 12 questions in Parliament about forever chemical contamination since April 2025. A new inquiry has now been launched by @CommonsWelshAff following the @BBCTwo @BBCWales documentary 'Buried'. Its first evidence session takes place Thursday. I will be in attendance.

I have heard from so many constituents who have been a victim of cowboy builders. This announcement is great news.
Today, we're putting the cowboys out of business. Most builders in this country are decent people who take pride in their work and charge a fair price for it. But the small number who don’t follow the same pattern: take a big deposit, do half a job, then disappear with your hard-earned money. That's got to change. So we're backing a new system that gives you the option to have your money held safely and released bit by bit as the work is completed. Do the work, get paid. It's as simple as that. And we'll help our good builders stand out from the cowboys too. Tradespeople who meet our new set of standards will be able to show customers that they do things properly and can be trusted with their homes. This is another one of our everyday fixes to help with the cost of living, and to get people in every part of this country to finally believe in Britain again.

Excellent news from @energygovuk today, as plug-in solar becomes legal to use and buy across the country. There is no route to achieving real energy security and lowering household bills without clean, homegrown power. A huge step forward.

The Telegraph’s reporting today relates to a cyber incident affecting a small-scale energy generator. To be clear: there was no threat to the wider grid and nobody lost power. We have one of the most resilient energy systems in the world. (🧵1/5)

For too many disabled people, the cost and availability of transport can be a barrier to work. Right now, disabled bus passes are generally restricted to 9.30am–11pm on weekdays, meaning they aren’t always there when people need them to get to work, training or education. From April 2027, we’re removing those restrictions across England. That’s one less pressure - and more freedom to access jobs, training and opportunity. In London alone, 193,393 disabled people have concessionary travel passes. Accessible, affordable transport matters.
Labour is extending free 24/7 bus travel for disabled people across England.

I drove up to a farm near Llandyssil last week. My constituents there are too high for mains and are facing water shortages thanks to drought. The cows can't graze so they're being fed with silage meant for the winter. It is long past time to take climate adaptation seriously.

I had a further meeting with the Llanfyllin Group Practice to discuss their funding issues last week. The staff are going above and beyond and if properly backed, this practice would be an exemplar for how to deliver rural healthcare. They deserve a proper funding arrangement.
