Today, our partners at the Dutch National Police announced the arrest of one of the alleged leaders of ShinyHunters, a group linked to cyberattacks in the United States, the Netherlands, and around the world.
The Dutch High-Tech Crime Unit arrested the suspect under Dutch law. That's exactly how the "best athlete" model in the new FBI Cyber Strategy is meant to work: the partner with the strongest authority and access leads.
The @FBI is grateful to everyone who has assisted us in the ShinyHunters investigation, especially the Dutch National Police and the industry partners who shared information with us.

I know that way back when I briefly floated the idea of streaming, but given my workload that might not be a possibility. HOWEVER when TJOC releases, I am not opposed to the idea of recording playthroughs for people to see. Plus it’s more fun that way right? This is them trying to win your approval, it is the same as grandfathering everyone in. Ask yourself, did you enjoy growing up on the free internet as a kid? Did you enjoy not being surveilled? If the answer is yes then don't fall for this. Love the next generation by not forfeiting their digital rights in exchange for protecting our own. Let's not grow up to not be boomer's and do our best to leave the internet and world off better than how we inherited it. In a world where free speech is looked down upon anonymity is the next best thing, do not let them take this from us.
