Just been made aware of Mercury prizewinning band English Teacher (example lyrics "broken up, broken down/broken biscuits, broken town") Tellingly, reviews all celebrate them not being from London but say nothing about the music. Brexit has really been bad for art/art criticism.

Was a lot of fun introducing my book to recording arts and media management students at Communication University of China, with the excellent Qian Zhang. Super sharp, with really spot on questions about the passion/work nexus, Chinese rights management, AI value chains etc.

Most of the music you hear is a function of some sort of industry infrastructure bringing it to you. Me included. There are others who sit outside of that who get their ideas done. People doing parties for example with no public advertising or socials and not brand building.
