I’ll never forget the first time I visited Fort Mcmurray after the launch of the
#NotInMyCity airport program.
I was going through airport security after presenting to Frontline agencies and law-enforcement.
The security guard noticed I was wearing the
@NIMCAlly yellow rose pin 🌼. She stopped dead in her tracks. She said:
“I took your training one month ago, and two weeks ago I identified a human trafficking victim, and I knew what to do.”
I’m excited to revisit Fort Mcmurray this coming week for
@albertacentre_ consultations on how we can be more effective working through collective action to prevent an address human trafficking together.
I have performed there countless times. I have visited in good times and challenging times like the Ft. Mac fires, and I’m grateful for Ft. Mcmurray and her people for being a bellwether for the health and prosperity of our Alberta.
Fort Mcmurray is a special place,
and through the partnership of
@FlyYMM, has been a pioneer in the fight against human trafficking in Canada.
