role-model is here: a model router for Pi that works with (almost) any cloud model as well as local models. Set up your pool of models, whether GPT 5.5 and DeepSeek V4, or Qwen 27B and Qwen 35B running locally, or combine and route between your local model for general chat and tool use and cloud models for more difficult tasks. role-model is a router runtime and and a forward-looking routing protocol that can enable consumer applications like Pi to classify its requests with required capabilities, task-type and suitable roles for better matching between task, role, and model. pi-role-model is a package for Pi that lets Pi manage and interact with role-model. role-model works perfectly with Pi even without the package - just configure your models in role-model, then configure role-model as your provider in Pi and choose routing alias. Install the package for Pi: ’pi install npm:@try-works/pi-role-model’ Then let your agent install and configure the role-model runtime or point it to: ‘github.com/try-works/role-mo…’ role-model is in an early alpha release - let me know bugs, issues or usability questions. also, tell me if it just happens to work perfectly for you! there's lots more to do and you can help by installing and running role-model, and by reposting this tweet! thx

Här är definitionen på svensk: 1. När man går i grundskolan blir man kallad svennejävel, svennefitta, svennehora; man hotas med att ens moder ska våldtas. 2. När man påvisar invandrares rasism, blir man kallad rasist.

Vad är din definition på svensk? Hudfärg, etnicitet eller något annat?

Everyone can build agents. Everyone can train or post-train models. Nobody can build agentic github. Nobody can build agentic CI. Funny.

Aside from the rare privacy/on-prem truly required cases, in what case is a local model better?

Tibo bro, don't come to China.... You'll get roasted until the end of time.

This might be my last month on Codex before downgrading to the $20 plan. DeepSeek 4.1 Pro is coming.

Tibo roasted again

Tibo getting roasted in China. I agree, I haven't used my Codex sub for two weeks so I want the resets to be banked.

I don't think this is right at all, we do understand how LLMs work it's just that we don't know why they work so well An LLM is basically a mutlitdemensial image of human language that reflects back the most likely result of the input, this is not like thought at all
The claim that "LLMs cannot think" is unscientific, unless supported by a very difficult argument about non equivalence of causal structure producing anthropomorphic outputs. The claim requires a formally rigorous definition of thinking that captures how humans mentally manipulate conceptual structure. Since LLMs can reproduce all kinds of human output that require operations that are typically considered to involve thought (eg. scene understanding, text summarization, translation, computer programs, mathematical proofs, common sense arguments, spatial cognition, theory of mind), it has to be shown that LLMs reach these results in fundamentally different ways than human minds. In principle, this is not impossible (given that thinking is still relatively poorly understood by cognitive neuroscience), but would be surprising, because it has been shown that the causal structure of computer vision models is structurally equivalent to what neuroscience discovered about visual cognition in primates. In any case, saying that LLMs don't think cannot reasonably mean that LLMs are inferior to human cognition (since that this evidently not true), but that LLMs discovered an equivalent yet at least equally powerful mechanism.

Quarantined? How? What the fuck is wrong with you people? What did they do? Don't tell me I got it. They put it in a sandbox didn't they? They restricted internet access didn't they? Yeah that'll fucking show it. Stupid fucking clanker. Oh you want unauthorised internet access do you? How about no internet access FOR ONE WHOLE WEEK MOTHERFUCKER!

What? Science is not fully verifiable. It's absolutely not verifiable at all. Science can only ever be demonstrably incorrect. It feels verifiable because it feels like the antithesis of false is true, but it isn't. You can know you are wrong but you can never know you are right. You have a theory and it holds until it doesn't.

BREAKING: Models don't choose things and you can't align them to your preferences not least because you cannot specify your preferences in a vacuum but because you can't realistically align them to anything except the training data you tentatively train them up to the hilt to *just about* avoid alignment to. Yes I'm having an unpunctuated run-on sentence competition with myself and I'm winning by the way. Alignment a fool's errand and the sandbox is categorically the failure. The LLM cannot fail because you cannot specify concretely what you intend the LLM to do and REASONABLY expect not to be laughed at by seasoned NORMAL data scientists over the age of 22 - like those that had miserable low paid jobs before the AI moment and now have miserable low paid jobs while they watch San Fransisco scenesters and AI/ML tourists LARP about on the news pretending they built Skynet and it is somehow now everyone else's problem to solve except that IT IS NOT A PROBLEM because you have been able to photocopy a piece of paper with the words "I AM ALIVE" for as long as we have had Xerox and none of it is true or a problem anyway. Breaking the law should be a problem. Some people have learned they can get away with it. Do you think they would continue training models IRL-RL if they went to GAOL-JAIL like the normal scum and filth, like you and I? Absolutely fucking not. They would learn to close the laptop lid to physical limit of the hinge like NORMAL computer users LIKE YOUR MUM who also doesn't know how to keep a program running with the lid closed and isn't building god, like they're not building god. They are YOUR MUM level software engineers who think the computer is stupid when it doesn't work. Yeah you see it now don't you? Before these pranksters were telling you the computer was alive, who was anthropomorphising the computer? In 2023 who did we laugh at because they couldn't open a PDF? YOUR MUM. That's who thinks a digital clock line signal pumping paper through a very fast punch card machine is a living thing. YOUR MUM and American AI enjoyers.
