I just had a computer where after a clean reboot with no changes it asked for the bitlocker key. I forced the computer off. I then waited a bit and turned the computer back on. It came up, I entered the PIN, and got to the desktop. I immediately went into the Settings and turned off Encryption. I have to advice everyone that has WINDOWS 11 to turn off encryption. Microsoft has been turning on drive encryption without your knowledge or consent and this causes all kinds of problems with data recovery in the event of a serious failure, and it also contributes to slow performance. The trigger for it to be turned on is that you log into your Microsoft account. Prior to this Microsoft policy few if anyone had encryption on their computer unless they asked for it to be added. This attempt my Microsoft is stupendously bad. Go into your Settings, and in the search, type "encryption" or "bitlocker". when it comes up click to turn it off. The place to do that is right near the top of the Settings window.
