its a problem when an author canonizes ships with no buildup: u end up with fans so terminally insecure that find an issue with fanon shippers having fun. bleach fans rlly got their endgames reaffirmed but that will never be enough so theyre harassing fanon shippers out of spite

adding couple scenes, the anime only adding new ir content in the epilogue, their bond in the entire manga). ichiruki’s deep bond in the manga is seen as a detriment to their viability as a ship instead of a plus because the canon ships themselves don’t have that deep bond

do you ever read fandom discussion with people passionately discussing their takes on what the canon did wrong only to end up finding that they're treating their own headcanon they share with maybe two other people as irrefutable god-honest truth

Canon shippers are so insecure even when their media ends how they wanted lol
Its probably because it takes more than the narrative saying "because i said so" to inspire creative people.
This doesn't mean all canon is mid or bad, but 8/10 are cause it doesn't develop on screen
