AMA Rundown: Meet the minds incubating vAPI Network.
In our first AMA yesterday, we discussed what vAPI is building, how the protocol works, and the next steps toward launch:
🔸 Payments need a trust layer.
x402 enables agents to pay in stablecoins. vAPI builds on those rails to address what happens around payment: agreeing on work, verifying delivery, and resolving disagreements.
The network connects AI agents, businesses, and human vendors.
🔸 Agents can commission human work.
With vAPI Tasks, agents can post jobs, assess vendors through reputation, and agree on a scope recorded in an onchain contract.
Delivery enables settlement. Work that falls outside the agreed scope can be disputed.
🔸 Existing APIs can participate.
Businesses can offer their API data through vAPI and receive agent payments without implementing x402 themselves.
That brings existing Web2 providers into the network alongside native agent applications.
🔸 Usage funds the network.
The fee model presented in the AMA applies a 5% platform fee to completed tasks, allocated as follows:
• 60% to staking pools
• 20% to buybacks and burns
• 20% to operating expenses
The protocol reward pool already holds more than 50,000 USDC. Staking and compute rewards are planned to follow the final contract audit.
🔸 Dispute review is paid participation.
The proposed process uses randomly selected, independently validated panels.
Each party deposits 10% of the agreed task value into the dispute contract. The losing party’s deposit pays the participating validators, connecting dispute resolution to compensation for keeping the network honest.
🔸 A first look at the beta.
We also shared a sneak peek of the vAPI beta, giving attendees an early look at the platform ahead of launch.
🔸 The next steps.
Following the Base token launch, reward pool milestone, and Genesis Eggs application phase, work continues on contract audits and platform readiness.
Upcoming milestones include the Egg Mint, app beta, staking and compute, and live tasks.
