Will there ever be anything in the budget for a middle class family? Or do they just get the bill?

City told HMRC there was nothing untoward going on, but that was a lie. Another lie. So many now they can barely keep track of them. The walls keep on closing in. For years, many of us have spoken about City's house of cards & as we're seeing, it is beginning to tumble down.

If most work places weren’t pricks about people taking sick days, then it wouldn’t be like this. No one willingly wants to come into work when they’re ill
People keep coming into the office when they're sick and it's starting to piss me off!!!!

If you raise concerns about the welfare bill, it means you want disabled people to freeze to death. If you raise any concerns about uncontrolled migration, it’s racism. If you want healthcare from a doctor, you’re elitist. Are there any opinions average folk can have please?

The social contract is now not that you work for a better life. It's that you work so someone else doesn't have to.

This is exactly why the uk will combust. You cannot punish people who get up day after day & go to work, do everything right, contribute to society with their taxes & their efforts… then reward those that don’t.
A UK family where both parents work full-time, pay full council tax, and earn enough to be 'doing alright' on paper, can't afford to take their kids to the Tower of London on a Saturday in 2026. Two adult tickets and two child tickets at standard price comes to roughly £100. Add £40-£80 in train fares and £50-£70 for lunch — that's around £200 for a single Saturday at one tourist attraction in their own capital city. A family on full Universal Credit, living in subsidised housing, paying no council tax, can take the same four people to the same Tower for £1 a ticket — £4 total — under the 'inclusive access' schemes most major UK attractions now run. The working family pays the full £200 day out AND covers — through their taxes — the £196 discount the benefits family gets on the same trip. Whatever the original intention of those schemes, this is the structure most UK working families are now living inside. Pay the full bill, then watch the people next door enjoy the day out you can't take your own kids to.

The barefaced nerve of these cunts.
Three years on, we remember the horrific events of October 7 and the wave of destruction in Gaza that has followed it. We call today, and every day, for an end to the violence, for peace and safety for all.

Good morning everyone. Thinking of all those families who today are missing their loved ones for 3 years. Their young lives were taken in the most senseless and brutal ways. We respect, and will remember them always. Rest in peace...🙏🕯🕊

what exactly was the rush for burnham to oust starmer so fast, other than a grasp for power he could never win on his own merit?
Andy Burnham will delay publishing a review of the welfare system until after the budget in response to concerns about the cost of the overhaul and the optics of releasing it sooner A review by Alan Milburn, a former Labour health secretary, of the nearly one million young people not in education, employment or training (Neets), was due to be published at the end of next week It will now be held back until November at the earliest to prevent it from overshadowing the prime minister’s first big fiscal event John Healey, the chancellor, faces having to raise taxes to balance the books after a rise in the cost of government borrowing. It means that there will be no money for welfare reform in the budget Milburn’s review is expected to recommend radical changes to the welfare system and an expansion of employment support to get young people off benefits. His interim report concluded that for every £1 spent on employment support, £25 was spent on benefits thetimes.com/article/87d0cf1…
