If you’re a beginner trying to break into Data Analytics, here’s a simple roadmap I’d recommend: 1. Learn Excel Start with formulas, PivotTables, charts, lookups, data cleaning and basic analysis. 2. Learn SQL Understand SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, JOINs, CASE, subqueries and aggregations. 3. Learn Power BI Learn data cleaning, data modelling, DAX and how to build useful dashboards. 4. Learn basic statistics Understand averages, percentages, distributions, correlation and how to interpret data. 5. Build projects Don’t just watch tutorials. Work with real datasets and solve actual business problems. 6. Learn to communicate insights Don’t just say “sales increased by 20%.” Explain WHY, what changed, and what the business should consider doing next. 7. Build a portfolio Document your projects on LinkedIn/GitHub and show your process, not just the final dashboard. 8. Start applying You don't need to know everything before applying. And honestly, you don't need Python at the very beginning. Get comfortable with Excel → SQL → Power BI → projects → business thinking, then add Python when you’re ready to expand your skills. Learn → practice → build → share → apply.
