For those of you who thought I was hiding during today’s big Bitcoin rally, I was observing the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. Now I’m off to break the fast, but I’ll have plenty to post about the rally tomorrow, assuming it holds up.

CNBC just filmed a hedge fund where every employee is an AI agent. Payroll: $40,000 a year, all 4 of them. His last team cost $5,000,000 and burned him out of the business. Watch him introduce the staff. > Houston runs the place. > Doocey is the red team. His only job is to break every trade idea before money touches it. > Steffi, yes, Steffi Graf, marks up the charts. >Desmond runs the quant strategies over the weekend. The human kept one job. He calls it the meat in the chair. Pressing the button. 7 or 8 people in New York, Hong Kong and California could not cover a crypto market that trades at 3am. 4 bots do. He started them on Claude Opus 4.6 and they have not slept since. 10x the output, his number, not mine. 527,000 people watched this in 8 days. Your timeline skipped it. His forecast for Wall Street, on camera: one hedge fund manager, 1 or 2 humans under him, a swarm of agents under them. And for himself: "Maybe someday old BK will just have to be at the beach"
A hedge fund manager wrote his investors a goodbye letter. The crypto market that never closes had broken him. 17 months later CNBC filmed his new fund. 4 AI agents, zero humans on payroll, $40,000 a year all in. Nobody in it sleeps. The letter is still on X. 769 views. You run the same f*cking shift he quit. Hyperliquid at 3am, a Bitcoin alert in bed. You just never had $5,000,000 of payroll to prove it wasn't working. From the letter: "Markets that never close have taken a toll that I could only fully recognize once I paused." From the CNBC clip: "If it's 3 in the morning and I have an idea, I can just ping them. I don't have to worry about waking somebody up in the middle of the night, which I may or may not have done in the past." 7 or 8 people in New York, Hong Kong and California. $5,000,000 a year. Could not cover 3am. 4 bots, started on Claude Opus 4.6. $40,000 a year. Never off. 10x the output, his number. > Houston is mission control. Every bot reports to him. > Steffi, yes, Steffi Graf, marks up the charts. >Desmond runs the quant strategies over the weekend. > Doocey is the red team. Every thesis gets attacked before a dollar moves. Two Sigma keeps 1,700 people on that job. Behind them sits what he calls the corporate brain. Every trade, every email, every piece of research is a node, wired to everything else in the firm "almost like neurons". "Take a staff of 100, you've got a staff of 1,000" "I've talked to people working at big hedge funds now. They're doing something like this." 527,000 people watched his clip in 8 days. Brian Kelly kept one job in it. He calls it the meat in the chair. The market still never closes. He just isn't the one awake for it anymore.

As another Cardano project bites the dust, I find myself sitting here reflecting on the past 6 years, once again. Many have come, with grand promises at that, and many of which have had their cake and left. There’s a major lack of grit, especially for those teams who publicly fundraise. Call it what you want, I get start ups fail, but this is different. I have been quiet on the timeline. Most of what I do now is lurk and take notes of what people are doing/saying. The treasury stuff really took a lot out of me. We have grinded hard, no salaries, no public raises blah blah. So it’s been pretty sad to see what’s happening with things like genius, Taptools, etc. That said, the fire is still burning, and we still have goals we want to accomplish at Anvil. I hope to have good news to share with everyone soon. I do believe good times are not far away, but those silly seasons are likely done with. Steady, hard built growth is what we have in store for us now. Too many people are wise to the tricks and deceptions of crypto/blockchain. I look forward to the next chapter of our industry, I just hope we can continue to keep fighting the good fight until then. Down but not out. The show goes on. Maybe I’ll try to post more, I just get a whirlwind of emotion every time I think about how let down we have been by certain people/entities.

Fantastic to be part of this study that adds a new type of ubiquitin chain to the mechanism of pattern recognition receptor signalling. ANKIB1 is required for PRR-driven interferon production and has a broad impact on antiviral immunity. nature.com/articles/s41556-0…
Excited to share our new work uncovering a previously unknown mechanism identifying ANKIB1 as the E3 ligase that writes a critical new letter of the ubiquitin code central for immune signalling: K11-linked ubiquitin nature.com/articles/s41556-0…

Analyzing over 44 million US medical records, University of Virginia researchers found that patients hospitalized with severe COVID infection had a 19% higher risk of developing lung cancer. These findings of SARS-CoV-2’s oncogenic potential adds to recent evidence that SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses can trigger rapid metastatic growth of breast cancer cells in the lungs within two weeks of infection. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Claims that vaccines haven’t been tested against placebo are demonstrably false. We’ve documented 661 inert placebo-controlled trials (e.g., saline), including 503 for childhood vaccines. 100% of routinely recommended childhood vaccines have undergone placebo testing.

The modern cardiovascular drug development landscape has been largely shaped by human genetic studies. Emerging IL-6 targeting therapies are a landmark example. In this @Circ_Gen paper with the @TourmalineBio team (developing an anti-IL6 antibody for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease), we review how genetics pinpointed IL-6 signaling as a causal driver of athero-inflammation👇

Tremendously crass to platform him at a time that measles cases are surging in the UK. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8j1…
Appalled to see the Telegraph giving Aseem Malhotra a platform today. He has spread increasingly dangerous vaccine misinformation with impunity. ⁦@gmcuk⁩’s failure to remove him from the register is every bit as appalling. A spineless dereliction of duty.
