Inaugurated the National CVD Summit in Goa, in association with the Government of Goa and Tricog, bringing together policymakers, public health leaders and clinicians to advance cardiovascular care across India. Goa’s STEMI Programme is a strong example of how technology, early detection and a connected healthcare network can save lives, with 20 spokes across Goa, 4.4 lakh+ ECGs conducted and 11,000+ STEMI critical cases identified. Early mortality has been reduced from 7.2% to 2.4%. Visited the site of the State Cancer Institute at GMC today to review the progress. Happy to see the shuttering and reinforcement of the slab of the LINAC facility progressing steadily, with the puja performed at the site to mark this important milestone. The LINAC facility will make this the first government hospital in Goa to offer this advanced radiation treatment. In collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre, the institute will provide comprehensive, accessible and affordable cancer care, reducing the need for our people to travel outside Goa for treatment.
