Could protecting the blood–brain barrier help tackle Alzheimer’s? A new study links fibronectin buildup to APOE4-related barrier damage. Reducing it restored barrier function in experimental models. Whether that protects memory remains untested. nature.com/articles/s43587-0…

.@TimDraper , in Cryptonite: “Decentralize the funding. Decentralize the data. Decentralize the right to be wrong in public.” Science works best when it stays provisional - open to challenge, not locked as doctrine. Early longevity biology needs that same room: - competing hypotheses, public misses, and capital that does not wait for a decades-long lifespan proof. cryptoniteventures.substack.…

Semaglutide extended lifespan in aged female mice — Feng, Barthez et al., Danica Chen lab, in Nature today. 3 months of GLP-1R agonism at 20 months old improved function, dialed down hallmarks of aging, hit conserved nutrient-sensing pathways. Head-to-head vs calorie restriction: CR-mimetic on most axes, better than CR on exploratory drive, spatial memory, glucose control. We argued in Nature Health earlier this year that GLP-1 agonists deserve rigorous longevity testing. This is exactly that test. doi.org/10.1038/s41586-026-1… #longevity #aging #GLP1

Cerrato et al. in Nature Aging: a consensus roadmap toward precision senescence medicine. It comes out of the SENESCENCE2030 meeting in Coimbra. The next step is the unglamorous one: biomarkers and trial designs that can actually test a senolytic. 🧬 nature.com/articles/s43587-0…

Agreed the endpoints have to be things people can feel. RAPA-EX-01, co-funded by VitaDAO, tested rapamycin plus exercise in adults 65-85 with a 30-second chair stand as the primary endpoint. It missed, and the result is public. Functional readouts, either way they land.
longevity biotech has a problem we argue about semantics, call each other deathists, complain that nobody funds us and nobody cares all while a weight loss tx class (w/ anti-aging signal) outsells every drug class ever so mby let’s start making more drugs people actually want – ones that make them stronger, smarter, sexier – and simultaneously affect their aging trajectory? consumer biotech might fix most of what's broken in the field full thesis below

First human dosed with ER-100. First time in-vivo partial epigenetic reprogramming designed to reverse cellular aging has been tested in a patient. Phase 1, open-angle glaucoma and NAION. No efficacy readout here. First dose only. August newsletter clinical highlight. 👉 vitadao.com/blog/vitadao-lon…
The VitaDAO August Longevity Newsletter is live. This month: - Artan Bio closed a $1M seed to advance ARTAN-102, a suppressor tRNA for CGA→TGA nonsense mutations. Still preclinical - Gero added $17M, taking equity to $34M - Rubedo RLS-1496: 46% vs 11% AK lesion-count drop at 4 weeks vs the untreated arm (first 18 of 24, open-label) - A White House report notes DAOs are beginning to fund scientific research without traditional institutional gatekeepers 👉 Read here: vitadao.com/blog/vitadao-lon…

Connecting the dots back to @artan_bio. Our drugs have the ability to suppress these other somatic mutations involved in aging. A real chance to move the needle of lifespan and healthspan! Grateful to the DeSci/crypto space for supporting this idea with ethereum:0x7b66e84be78772a3afaf5ba8c1993a1b5d05f9c2.
TP53 alterations remain a powerful risk signal in newly diagnosed DLBCL. Daniel Landsburg of @Penn reviewed functional status, VAF and genomic context—and why TP53-mutant disease warrants better targeted strategies. #DAVAHeme

Thanks @Ben_M_McLeod for giving me space! Great setup you guys have! Excited to continue building especially in the DeSci space. Crypto ($vitarna) + biotech is real and spectacular! @vitadao @vitarnabio @artan_bio @Bodeeeman @aschwartzphd
Michael Torres sold his company for $300 million to Eli Lilly. This is the timeline of how he got there. What is he up to next? Among other things, a longevity gene therapy that uses some fascinating tRNA biology (blockchain is involved). Many thanks to @Mykalt45 for your time!
