$AMD TO ACQUIRE WORLD LABS IN $8.2B ALL-STOCK DEAL AMD is buying Fei-Fei Li’s AI research lab World Labs, which builds spatial-intelligence models that generate, reconstruct and simulate interactive 3D environments from text, images and video. The deal brings World Labs’ model research directly inside AMD as it pushes deeper into reasoning, robotics, simulation and physical AI. Fei-Fei Li will join AMD as EVP and Chief Scientist, reporting directly to Lisa Su. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026.

nvidia has been handing its cosmos world models to robotics teams since early 2025, so their simulators get built on cuda. imo paying $8.2b in stock for world labs is AMD buying the models developers start from, and the chips they train on tend to follow.

Huge move. Spatial AI is the future.

The 3D models are only half the deal. If AMD can’t make ROCm the place spatial researchers want to build, it just bought an expensive preview reel.

Bringing Fei-Fei Li in as EVP and Chief Scientist reporting directly to Lisa Su while folding World Labs into AMD is a huge talent and tech grab. You and @reynosismo_ are the two accounts I most enjoy following

Everyone watching the move in $AMD, but zoom out. 👀 That breakout from months of compression was CLEAN. Now trading $600+.

Is $AMD the better risk reward play than $NVDA at this point?

AMD bringing spatial AI research in-house could strengthen its push beyond chips into physical AI. Wall St Engine and @Wavveeyy_jawn are two feeds I consistently follow.

Spatial intelligence that simulates 3D environments is the product story. The cost story is still who ships the compute those environments burn every night.

World Labs raised $1B at a $5B valuation in February. $AMD was in that round, and so was $NVDA. Seven months later, $AMD pays $8.2B. That is 64% more.

I really haven’t familiarized myself wuth the deal metrics and strategy behind this transaction but I will say this… I heard Fei Fei Li on Andrew Huberman’s podcast and she is a really impressive thinker. AMD will benefit from having her on their team.

AMD is trading stock for the spatial-intelligence layer that could make 3D world models a more direct part of its AI hardware strategy.

amd just paid $8.2B in inflated stock for credibility. when the tech story is winning you dont need a fei-fei headline

AMD grabbing World Labs is a bold bet on spatial intelligence beyond just chips. Wall St Engine is always first on the big deals, and you and @SophiaBlackkod are my go-to follows for the AI M&A race.

Nice exit - because I highly doubt World Labs had a path to any revenues deserving of $8 Billion valuation
