Gabriel Clarke’s two interviews with Thomas Tuchel and Jude Bellingham were dreadful. Tuchel was very clear in his praise for England’s strength of character but he wasn’t happy with the performance. Clarke failed to understand Tuchel’s mentality comments. He then gave a misleading follow up to Bellingham which suggested to Bellingham that Tuchel was unhappy with the team. Unnecessarily disruptive and the wrong context of interviewing in two separate interviews. #EngvNor

The best picture of Euro 2024. Josip Ilicic celebrates qualifying for the knockout stages after making his first competitive appearance for Slovenia in 955 days. He had to leave football twice for mental health reasons. Great to see him back

Where they sit in the polls is irrelevant (much like you). Reform have no elected MPs, and much like the Greens and Galloway's party they have one sitting MP. It's entirely sensible he be appearing with the Green party.

No brewery is safe right now. @EllandBrewery is one of our most treasured breweries, producing iconic beers inc 1872 Porter. Even @Adnams is seeking help with debt. Govt must act.

England have gone further in #RWC2023 than Ireland and either France or South Africa, got to be happy with that. Borthwick has taken #ENG further than Eddie Jones would have

Rotherham United left Millmoor in 2008, but the ground is still there, abandoned, rotting, a strange ghost stadium a few hundred yards from their new home. And nobody knows why. Or at least, nobody will say why. A piece on a weird state of affairs theathletic.com/4845132/2023…

Not only was the announcement about alcohol prices yesterday a lie, but the part about the system being simplified was too. A 3-tier system was replaced by 27 bands of alcohol duty, meaning firms have to throw out all their pricing and start recalculating from scratch.
The Govt were right to alert us at the start of July. ‘On 1 August 2023, the Alcohol Duty system will become much simpler, taxing all alcoholic drinks based on their alcohol by volume (ABV)’ It’s not ‘much simpler’ so here’s A guide to the UK duty hikes on wine A very long🧵
