More thoughts on Kentucky falling out of the AP Poll:
Mississippi State drops 1 spot after losing to Alabama at home by more than Kentucky did. They also were hardly ever even in the game.
Kentucky’s only loss was to Alabama at home, and the Cats led for 42 minutes before everything fell apart.
Why does Iowa not get punished for getting smoked at home by Ohio State? They won on a final-play Hail Mary on the road against Michigan last week. Does that hold more weight than a road win at Texas A&M or South Carolina?
I strongly disagree with that. 😂
What has Tennessee done to be ranked No. 15? And now they have a QB controversy?
Oklahoma State beat Oregon. They also lost to Tulsa.
What has USC done to be ranked No. 19? At some point, the preseason rankings and “on-paper talent” have to stop carrying so much weight compared to what we’ve actually seen on the field.
Houston was down 17 at home to UCF and lost its one big game so far. Same thing there. “On-paper talent” and preseason rankings are carrying way too much weight.
Boise State? That high because they played Oregon close and beat Memphis? Come on. That can’t be serious.
SMU? This is full-on comedy. They lost to Louisville, who is 2-3, and have barely beaten some BAD ACC football teams.
This is foolish, and honestly, it’s a disgrace to the sport.
I’ve never put much stock into the AP Poll because it’s filled with “journalists” who don’t watch every game, can’t watch every game and can’t properly evaluate the entire sport.
And it’s funny because there was so much pushback over how many SEC teams were ranked last week, so they try to overcorrect it by throwing one of them out.
It’s a full-on mockery of the great sport of college football.
So Kentucky, spot the ball against LSU.
If they don’t want to recognize you and continue to fight against the perception of “Kentucky football,” then just go win.
Keep proving to everyone that we don’t just play basketball at this school and in this city of Lexington, Kentucky.

Kentucky falls out of the AP Poll this week after going on the road to Williams-Brice Stadium and beating South Carolina in overtime.
I know on paper it wasn’t a massive win, but winning on the road in the SEC is HARD, and getting punished for that is WILD.
Kentucky is better and has a better résumé than some of these other teams in front of them.
Whatever. Keep hating. The AP Poll doesn’t matter anyway. So many non ball knowers and non ball watchers are voters in this thing.
But still, it’s embarrassing how bad it is for the second biggest sport in America.
Fuel to the fire. Use it as motivation this week hosting No. 10 LSU in a night game at Kroger Field.
