five changes from the two newest Hermes Agent tags, v0.21.4 and v0.21.5:
(1) start a dashboard chat in any project, from your phone (#117834)
the chat tab in the web dashboard has a workspace picker. choose one of your projects or git repos and the new chat starts in that folder.
(2) Claude chats can keep their cache for an hour (#118337)
set prompt caching to auto and the chats you type in keep their cache for an hour, so a ten-minute break does not mean writing the whole context again.
(3) /branch opens a new thread on Discord, Telegram, Slack and Matrix (#117450)
branch a conversation in a chat app and the copy gets its own thread. the chat you were in stays on the original session.
(4) retry when the usage limit resets, in Hermes Desktop (#116288)
when a provider's usage limit stops a turn and says when it lifts, the error card offers to retry at that time. Hermes runs the turn once, with a countdown you can cancel.
(5) background commands get a row in the live dock (#117464)
in the CLI and TUI, each command the agent runs in the background shows above the prompt with its latest line of output, next to your subagents.

computer use in Hermes Agent runs on Cua Driver, so great to see it go native on Omarchy!
1/ Today we're announcing the stable Cua Driver release for Omarchy - a new foundation for computer use, built into the OS from the ground up.
Over the last month, we worked directly with @dhh, @SpencerGBull and @vaxryy to bring a native synthetic cursor to Omarchy's Hyprland compositor, enabling true multi-cursor computer use at the OS level.
Cua Driver is open source and available at github.com/trycua/cua

Hermes Wingtips #83: `approvals[.]denial_breaker_threshold`
when the smart-approval reviewer denies a command, Hermes Agent can try a variation of it.
this key counts those denials in a row, per session. at 3, the deny message tells the agent to stop, report what was blocked, and ask you to run it yourself or /approve it.
lower it to stop sooner, or set 0 to turn it off.

here is everything you need to know about Fast Search:
- how to turn it on: if your web search already runs through your Nous Portal subscription, it switches over with the update in the first reply. if not, `hermes tools` moves web to the Nous route. it is the same web_search tool, so your agent will not see a new one
- where your searches go: through the Nous Tool Gateway on your Portal login. no Perplexity account or API key on your side
- is it real search: yes. your agent gets ranked results with short snippets, then reads the pages it picks
- your own key or SearXNG: nothing changes. a backend you picked or a key you set works as before

Jon Komet built a side panel that puts your own Hermes Agent inside Chrome, Edge or any Chromium browser.
you stay in control of the browser, Hermes sees the tab you pick.
on a local or self-hosted gateway it works with the models, tools, skills, memory and MCP servers you already set up. only the tab you are on goes into the prompt, and you can toggle other tabs in or out.
for anyone who wants Hermes on the page they already have open, without leaving the browser.

this is four pieces your Hermes Agent already has:
- the printer: if Hermes runs on another box, point its terminal at your Mac over SSH (Tailscale gives the Mac a stable address). macOS prints a file with `lp page.pdf`
- the inputs: your calendar through the google-workspace skill, Granola through its official MCP server, X through the xurl skill
- the schedule: a cron job, "every day at 9pm", that reads tomorrow and writes the page
- the paper: ask for a one-page newspaper as a PDF, then `lp` sends it to the printer
you can do anything you want with Hermes Agent

and now it prints me daily physical mail based on my next day events, granola chats, X news etc

here are the answers to the questions you asked most under the Bot Screen launch:
- where it runs: on a Linux gateway host, like a server or a cloud VM. Hermes Desktop connects to it from your laptop, and each bot gets its own desktop there, not yours
- does the bot see what you type: no. while you hold control, its computer use and browser tools are refused, screen captures included. when you hand back, it re-captures the screen and carries on
- does it stop mid-task: when it reaches a login, 2FA, a CAPTCHA or a payment, it tells you in chat and ends its turn. take over, do the step, hand back, tell it to continue
- how heavy is it: plan on 1.1 to 1.5 GB of memory per open screen with a browser. a screen nobody uses stops after 30 minutes and comes back on the next use
- it is off by default: start it from the Screen pane in Hermes Desktop, or run `hermes computer-use screen start` on the host
You can now watch your agents work live as Hermes Desktop streams the screen of any bot's screen or session in real time.
Watch it drive a browser, type into a terminal, or open a window. Take over anytime to interact with the Bot Screen or type credentials and seamlessly hand back off when you're done.

Hermes Agent is driving my Microduck!
I typed one sentence: "make the duck walk forward for five seconds then sit"
Hermes Agent took it from there. it checked the duck was sitting, stood it up, walked it 0.58 m and sat it back down. every command in the clip is one Hermes Agent picked and ran itself.
it runs on a local Qwen3.8-27B.
