Ripple’s president Monica Long said in Seoul that Ripple is looking at using the XRP Ledger so payment customers can get the short-term credit they already expect. A Korean report says that could mean XRP-backed payment loans next year. She also said this year’s test of using the ledger’s exchange for payments worked, and she hopes that use grows in 2027.
A new group called XRP Asia debuted at the same event. Its founding president said the job is to grow XRP communities across Asia, not just Korea and Japan, and to help builders with hackathons, pilots, and early funding. She also said getting more people onto Ripple’s dollar stablecoin, RLUSD, is a Ripple priority.
