genuinely can't get over how dogshit the new sheik design looks man HE'S (yes he, he's referred to as a guy in the game) originally looked hella androgynous and even had shorter hair now it's just obviously just Zelda and that's so fucking lame

I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t see this Shiek design as especially feminine. He reminds me of more of characters like Griffith or Alucard than any female character. Broad shoulders, beefy build, angelic and angular face. It still reads pretty androgynous imo.

those two have masculine bodies and feminine features, thats what makes them androgynous. shieks redesign has a feminine body and feminine features, it is feminine.

You’re saying the new Sheik has a more feminine body than the original Sheik??

yes ..? look at the og tweet. the build on the left is much more feminine than the build on the right. the redesign is meant to be explicitly feminine, they feminized the build and the outfit and the face and even the damn official art's pose

Sorry, I genuinely don’t that I think they look that different…. Can you point out what on the new Sheik outfit or build is ā€œfeminizedā€?

well… the new random navy blue bits of fabric literally look like panties, the red cord resembles a garter, they added smokey eyeshadow, and the pose has shiek standing with their weight on one leg. they also gave shiek an more hourglass silhouette

No offense, I think you’re overthinking it. Why would they would invoke exterior panties? I don’t think the new eyes look really different from the old ones. That ā€œgarterā€ is just a holster. Their silhouettes are also so similar, if anything, og Sheik has a skinnier waist.

And the pose… Sheik is just holding the harp. Here’s the old model holding it really similarly, and if you could see Sheik’s feet in this official art they’d probably be place similar. Calling this incredibly subtle pose ā€œfeminizedā€ is a bit much.

the new pose has them standing with the weight on one leg, vs the old pose has them standing with both legs equally supporting. the new pose is more typically feminine. this is like.. the first thing they tell u if ur doing theatre playing a character who is the opposite gender

Now are you telling me, that someone who takes that pose HAS to be a woman, or could they be a man who happens to present a bit feminine? Like whaaaat are we doing here. This a character I’m positing looks no more a ā€œfemaleā€ than an androgynous figure than their older design.
