Zero crossed 100k weekly installs last week. Out of curiosity, I checked how our pace compares to some other projects I respect. Was surprised to find we're beating Supabase's pace by over a year (!! - as measured by time from public launch).
Now of course it's hard to compare these numbers for much. This is npm installs which is notoriously noisy. It's more of a coarse proxy for usage than anything else.
And the world has changed a lot in the meantime - AI means usage of all kinds is up. The whole world is just turning the crank faster.
I think the key takeaway here is that infrastructure takes time. Today Supabase is an 800lb Gorilla and Convex is coming up fast. It's easy to forget the *years* of investment that it took to get there.

fire. assuming ur using tanstack query. if you ever want to go a step further, id recommend storing data in indexed db to avoid network requests for mutations and queries. shouldnt need a network request everytime a user fetching the same data. Look into @zero__ms . this is what we used for cobalt. heres a demo. and code is opensource. nitter.net/SriketK/status/2072464…

We built @zero__ms for exactly this problem. It lets you intuitively control what syncs and when, balancing startup vs interaction speed.
