I look at it differently
I think most people I knew got into the industry because they really liked coding. Now that AI is in the process of affecting every part of that industry its not the ego that is being shattered but process of the craft we got paid to do and loved is being shattered.
But of course I think there is many things to be excited about and I do think that even though the old way is going to fade out over the years for the majority of programmers, there is still so much amazing things you can do.

I've finally been able to put all frontend solutions on the same grid by recognizing them as a product of 2 axes and 3 core responsibilities. HTMX, LiveView, RSCs, islands, SPAs, Sync Engines...
None express what another can't. They differ in efficiency and ergonomics.

google is locking down public (unauthenticated) access to chromium-adjacent resources, no clue why, but this may potentially be very bad for anyone who works with chromium.
earlier today i couldn't pull chromium source via gsync from googlesource due to timeouts and rate limit errors, only managed to do it after several retries. tarball source releases have been broken for weeks, so cloning is the only way to get fresh chromium source code right now.

- cname uncloaking in built-in ublock origin, enabled by default
- important fix for rare mid-update data reset on macOS, and an additional safeguard that makes helium retry several times, close the browser on repeated failure, and notify the user about issues with macOS keychain, instead of regenerating the data encryption key right away
- compact debugging warning, now presented as an activity indicator
- global privacy control with useful guidance in refreshed network settings, disabled by default
- experimental flag for bypassing DPI-based internet filtering via TLS ClientHello splitting, field tested and proven to work well around the world
- lazy session restore: helium will only load activated tabs in restored windows, saving memory, traffic, and resources
- going back from a site opened in a new tab will bring you back to the tab you opened it from
- redesigned the onboarding to follow refreshed design language and added a third-party password manager selection page
- updated all icons across UI to rounded style
- new animated progress bar for indicating page loading progress even when tabs are hidden
- new hibernated tab appearance: hibernated tabs are now greyscale
- horizontal splits and split management options on resizer right click

we also began working on the mobile version of helium for ios and android, but it will take some time before it's publicly available, as we want to make it actually good.

They accused me of being ‘political’ - the very thing an open source project shouldn’t be, I’m told. It only divides people. Let’s focus on the technology. Surely we can all get behind building amazing, fast, cool websites! No.
