by far the worst aspect of my personal and business experience with crypto is, surprisingly, accounting. No more

open source, open host, open custody sunlight is the best disinfectant
smart contract security is disruptive new contracts are really scary / hard for customers to use [bc hacks are ~unrecoverable], but they gain lindiness with usage over time that can't be matched by closed source / offchain code. Passive vs active security, upfront and fixed vs ongoing and variable, etc sunlight is the best disinfectant

I asked Opus 5.5 to visualize the work @0xdiid 's done with Accounting over the last two months. Here's @0xSplits's onchain activity measured in cost basis and lot disposals for 2026

This feature has consumed my life for the past 2+ months, and I'm very proud of how far it's come. Most wallet products don't even keep track of all of your transactions and pricing. Splits does, and it does it so well that you can rely on it with your accounting.

Important note: The tax treatment in this post was reviewed by @Darien_Advisors. We can't say enough good things about working with @Darien_Advisors and @0xcryptotax for this project. If you run a crypto company that needs someone to close its books, fwiw we're fans!

Loving that @0xSplits built a treasury product with the accountant in mind. In my experience, folks that use onchain treasury management solutions tend to silo their finops there, so having more beef on the accounting & transaction reporting means we don't need to employ a subledger solution out the gate.
One wallet. Thousands of transactions. But can your accountant tell what they were for? We teamed up with @0xSplits on a practical guide to automating your onchain operations from accounting and tax first principles. Less work for you, better records for your accountant. darienadvisors.co/insights/s…

.@Darien_Advisors has been an incredible design partner to work with, and they're publishing fantastic playbooks for onchain businesses. Strongly encourage crypto businesses and entrepreneurs to give them a look

our setup is largely inspired by the indomitable TAP approach:
More value will end up secured by open source code running on open networks - cheap intelligence accelerates this transition. This means your opsec around private key management becomes increasingly important. Some thoughts and best practices we’re seeing.

Opsec is hard. Every setup sits somewhere between too hard to use and too weak to trust. We've spent the past few years building self-custody wallets. Between using our own product and talking with

great opsec is hard, but we believe our system pushes the pareto frontier forward if you squint, it looks a lot like an expanded/productized version of @punk6529's three-address protocol (TAP)

for those unfamiliar w TAP, here's an old walk through:
1/ On TAP Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap. ✅ Three (T) ✅ Address (A) ✅ Protocol (P) The way to *never* have your grail NFTs phished is to religiously TAP. It is super-easy to do, you should all do it. There is NO excuse not to do it! NONE!

We built Private Sends in Splits using @near_intents, impressed with the UX for us and our customers.
Wow. NEAR intents is gobbling up TVL. If you haven't tried it in a while, check out near.com for x-chain trading. Supports perps on HL, multi-chain memecoins, equities. All confidential, non-custodial. The product has gotten really, really good. (We own $NEAR)

by request: easily copy/share link from the browser extension’s transaction preview so you can initiate a txn on an app, and your partner can counter sign - via slack, telegram, etc

social, hardware, and email for recovery mix of 1-of-n and n-of-m passkey wallets for day-to-day you can't make one wallet do everything, you have to use a system of wallets to manage the tradeoffs. We make this very simple in our app, while still passing the walkaway test
if you're building a self-custodial _software_ wallet, add _max_ friction to creating hot wallets & push users toward hardware wallets. idgaf if it hurts onboarding. your main job is keeping users' funds safe and in a world full of malware, making hot wallets the easy default is fucking _reckless_.

if you're building on @bankrbot, come check out what we're building for you @0xSplits - fee claims - auto swaps - revenue processing - accounting - shared wallets
Have seen this at least twice, so would like to make a PSA to @bankrbot devs. If you are implementing a fee recipient contract to manage fees for your project, you 1000% need to implement functions that let you change the fee recipient, AND handle claimed tokens. Alternately use @0xSplits. @abram and team are awesome and have a bunch of implementations specifically for this usecase.
