Morell's assignment as explained by the Obama White House was to support the notion that Rice's #Benghazi video story aligned with the assessment of intelligence analysts, which is a complete fabrication. In retrospect, Morell said he regretted attending the meeting. He realized that @BarackObama only wanted him there for political purposes. Morell was to take any blame for the video protest narrative to protect Susan Rice, who was hoping to replace @HillaryClinton as Secretary of State. This is another example of how Pres. Obama only saw the #Benghazi attacks through a purely political lens. Whether it was to protect his own re-election or Rice's candidacy for the Secretary of State job, telling the truth was not an option because it posed too high a political cost.

But the watchdog should bark. As Comptroller, I will: 1. Publish a report card for every local government: its limit, what it charged, and whether it went over. 2. Audit anyone who breaks the cap without a proper vote and get your money back. 3. Expose every cost Albany dumps on your town. Enough taxpayer abuse!
