Great upgrade!
I just added @1Password to my stack and gave my agents access to it. for all my clients it's been a life changer every client comes with their own logins. hosting, domains, email, dashboards, API keys. now the agents find the right account in 1Password, read only the field they need and use it. the passwords don't get printed in chats, logs or code they can also save and update credentials when I ask them to, so new logins go straight into the vault access to a login still isn't permission to send, spend or change anything live. that part stays with me worth the sub if you're running an agency

Today, we’re launching support for Chrome extensions in the ChatGPT desktop app! Bring the extensions you use every day to the in-app browser. You can now install, pin, and use your favorites, like 1Password, while getting things done with ChatGPT. Enterprise admins can now centrally deploy and manage extensions across their workforce so the IAB meets security requirements. Try it out and let us know what you think!

We’re entering the era of personal agents. People will bring their agents along as they move from job to job. I’ve been fascinated by what those agents will inherit from each employer, which is exactly why I wanted to write about it.

Personal agents have dropped. How do we get you to trust them?

Something shifted in consumer AI over the past few weeks, and it was not capability. A cohort of personal agents arrived at roughly the same time. Instinct (@noahrshinn) introduced an agent designed

Marc Zuckerberg explained how Muse AI works. It can book reservations, make payments, and keeps your passwords and card details secure. If the agent messes up a payment, it's insured so you'll get paid back. It works via a chat interface in its own Muse app (and on WhatsApp). --- Let's say you want to book a movie or pay for something: 1. @Stripe Link mints a single-use virtual card scoped to the purchase you approved. Muse never sees your real card. 2. If Muse makes a mistake, a refund guarantee covers it. XCover (Cover Genius) underwrites it, Link pays the premium. 3. Eligible purchases get price protection and damage or loss cover up to $500 per claim, plus no-fee returns up to $250. Only 9% of consumers say they'd let an agent complete a purchase for them (Accenture, June 2026). I mean, if an agent buys the wrong flight, that sucks! The question holding agentic commerce back is who eats that loss. An insured agent can be wrong and people will still let it spend. Insurance is the killer app for agentic commerce. Card networks answered it in the 90s. People typed card numbers into websites because zero liability and chargebacks made a bad merchant the bank's problem. The difference there was the user was involved. The card networks will absolutely want to own this kind of protection. The industry needs to get ready for that. On the business model, Zuckerberg told Alex Heath: Muse gives 100 million free tokens a week to win market share, $20 or $100 a month for power users, and eventually "a very small cut of whatever the transaction is." So subscription plus payments. There's a SURPRISING privacy-forward approach here: He and Nat Friedman recruited Moxie Marlinspike, Signal's founder, to build a Confidential VM where "even Meta cannot see the content." That ships later this year. And we already saw a privacy backlash with Instinct, which was storing your passwords and card credentials in its own vault. In the last two weeks it added Stripe Link and 1Password. Muse launched with both. (You have to credit the partnerships folks at Stripe and 1Password here, locking in the personal agents super early.) Where's Google in all of this personal agents discourse? Google has the email, the calendar, the cards and the search history. Apple has a strong bit of user trust. Neither has shipped a personal agent. This will become your control center and your interface. The everything app. Is your consumer service ready for Muse as a customer? Is your Neobank? Your bank? Is Meta a fintech now? Is all AI fintech?

We're excited to partner with @Meta to bring @1Password to @Muse, a new personal AI agent that helps you get things done across every part of your life. Muse is built with a secure credential store, and soon with 1Password, that extends to the password vault you already have. You’re in control of every request to access these credentials. More coming soon!

Credential stuffing has always been the most common type of attack, it's about to get worse but the correct way to protect yourself has not changed 1. Use 1Password (your passwords cannot be stolen from their servers) 2. Use a unique password for every login That's it.
New newsletter: CHANGE ALL YOUR PASSWORDS *NOW* Cybersecurity expert @alexstamos predicts that the next two years could be chaotic, as open-weight AI models with advanced cyber capabilities get into the hands of hackers, turning Grade C scammers into Grade A hackers; and allowing bad individuals to do the kind of work previously only possibly by large teams. Phishing attacks will become more sophisticated and more common, putting individuals at risk, and mid-tier companies with inadequate code and IT will cough up username-password combinations at an accelerated clip. The time to up your password game—and to get your parents and older relatives to up their own—is now. derekthompson.org/p/how-to-s…

you can now have chatgpt work securely sign into accounts:
ChatGPT Work can now use its computer and browser to sign in to websites on web and mobile, without ChatGPT ever seeing your username or password. That means you can ask it to: • Set up utilities for a new apartment • Book a DMV or passport appointment • Check reimbursement costs through your insurance • Find and book an in-network doctor around your availability • Check when your car registration expires and prepare the renewal paperwork • Compare your rental insurance policy with an issue you’re emailing your landlord about • Find and save apartment listings that match your criteria • Restock something just by uploading a photo • Schedule a package pickup for a return • Cancel tickets for a rescheduled trip • Book a vet appointment • Submit reimbursement paperwork for medical treatments • Check resale sites for new drops and save things you might like • Find candidates with specific experience and draft outreach • Take invoices from your email and submit them to your accounting software • Draft replies to rental property inquiries • Fill out permit applications for your small business • Add action items to a vendor portal based on a recent client call • Analyze the latest ad campaign for your small business
