Early into my lifting journey plenty of friends and gym buddies looked better than me. Late teens, early 20s. They were all leaner, more muscular, responded better to training… trained better too. Through pure consistency I could overtake everyone and started looking better. Sticking to it. At least never stopping completely. "Never quit" works wonders.
I saw my buddies make progress in the gym. They'd go for while, feel great, and then they would just fall off the wagon. They let life get in the way. They lacked the discipline, the willpower, and they fall out of the race. Because I stuck at it over years, I began to clearly develop a better physique than most people around me. That's all you really need to do: be consistent. I just stuck with it. It's about the daily repeated actions that form our health.

I always tell people "consistency" is the secret sauce. Not every workout is going to be great. Not every meal or nights sleep perfect. But if you keep turning up and putting in a good hard effort (and don't eat like a retard and get plenty of sleep) you will make improvements
