It's an outrage that @railandroad doesn't make use of its enforcement powers on accessibility.
Worse still, the Railways Bill will remove ORR's responsibility for this area and give it to the much weaker @TransportFocus, which won't even have its own enforcement powers.
In 2025, over 525 complaints were made to Southeastern regarding accessibility by 258 passengers
In 2024, 292 passengers made 560 complaints
What will it take for @railandroad to demand @Se_Railway Improvement Plan?
Anyone would think they don’t care about disabled people

Harrogate is now staffed by 1 person from 9pm 5 nights a week in this "trial".
The staff member can't see the opposite, now unstaffed, platform & entrance because of trains parked in the middle.

No to gate line reductions on Northern Trains
RAIL union RMT has called on the government to instruct Northern Trains to cease trials that reduce gate line operations.
The union understands that Northern Trains has instructed Carlisle Support Services (CSS) to hold trials that reduce the operation of gate lines on the Northern contract at many locations including St Helens Central, Blackburn, Harrogate, Skipton, Rochdale and Wigan Wallgate.
RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey stated that only last month the government rail minister had announced investment in physical gate lines across the country to prevent fare evasion which was losing the taxpayer millions in lost revenue.
“Open gates and no checks will not only lead to more fare avoidance but increase anti-social behaviour as the gate lines often act as a physical barrier.
“We will be writing to the rail minister Lord Peter Hendy to point out that Northern Trains plans flatly contradict what the government is trying to do,” he said.

Driver door operation means guards don't have to set foot on every platform, and disabled people relying on e.g. ramps start unstaffed stations can get missed.
It is also the first step to driver only operation.

RMT on war footing with Northern. "I will also be making it clear that any imposition of a different method of operation, that moves away from conductors having full control of the doors, will be met with the full industrial and political force of the union."
