It’s wild to me how popular Joe Biden is among normal, well-adjusted people who don’t spend their entire day on the internet. He was mobbed for an hour after Mass by 9/11 survivors’ families from all walks of life.

Twenty-five years ago today, we lost 2,977 souls and in the years since, thousands more to illnesses caused by the attack on our country. This morning, Jill and I hold close the families who carry that loss every day. We honor the heroes of September 11th: the firefighters and police officers who rushed into the towers and the Pentagon, the passengers who fought back over Shanksville, and the generation that stepped up to serve in the aftermath. Even now, we remember the greatest lesson of one of our nation's darkest days: at our most vulnerable, unity is our most powerful strength. We will never forget.

I’ve said it my entire career: the middle class built America. And unions built the middle class. To every worker who's ever punched a clock, worked a double, or walked a line for fair wages – and to everyone who stands up for them, at the bargaining table, in the statehouse, or on the shop floor: thank you. Simply put, Dolly Parton was an American original. She was an inspiration to millions. She was a relentless advocate for women and for equality. Through her Imagination Library, she placed the gift of reading into the hands of millions of children because she understood literacy is the foundation of opportunity. But perhaps most importantly, Dolly treated everyone with kindness and respect. She lived her values with a flair and vitality for life that was uniquely her own. She was a trailblazer in every sense of the word, and she will be missed by millions around the world. Jill and I are keeping her family, her friends, and her millions of fans in our prayers. He endured personal tragedies & came out of retirement to dig the country out of a pandemic. The thanks he got was being ridden out of town on a rail by jaded reporters who were bored with his competence. I'll never forgive the press for what they did to this good man.

Jill and I are shocked by the sudden passing of Lindsey Graham. Lindsey and I served together in Congress for over a decade, and worked closely on many issues throughout the years. We traveled the world together as members of the Senate Foreign Relations committee. We disagreed often, and sometimes loudly. Lindsey and I did agree on the profound importance of public service. Like me, he loved the Senate as an institution, even with all its flaws and complexities. To his family, his staff, his constituents in South Carolina, and everyone who loved him: Jill and I are keeping you in our prayers.
