Before an autonomous drone can safely fly through the real world, it needs to learn in simulation first. But a simulation is only as good as the environment it’s built on. The biggest hurdle for DePIN adoption might be the hardware itself. Asking users to buy and set up custom devices creates friction before they even get started. DePIN 2.0 takes a different route. Use the hardware people already carry every day. Your phone is the node. That makes real world data collection far more accessible and gives networks like @vangrid_io a much larger potential edge network.

Crypto was supposed to remove the middlemen. But unclear regulation could end up bringing them back. That’s one of the interesting points raised by @GenLayerFDN CEO @kstellana in a recent Cryptonews discussion around the CLARITY Act. His view is that regulation should focus less on whether something is simply called “DeFi” or “decentralized” and more on who actually has control. Who can freeze funds? Who can stop a transaction? Who can change the rules? That question becomes even more important as AI agents start making decisions and executing transactions on their own. This is where @GenLayer approach gets interesting. Instead of relying on a single centralized authority, Gen Layer is designed around independent validators that can evaluate information, agreements and disputes.
