The European Parliament has stripped Grzegorz Braun of his immunity - for the sixth time. This vile antisemite - a serial offender - was publicly denying that gas chambers existed at Auschwitz-Birkenau, dismissing the murder of over a million Jews as "fake" and grossly distorting the Holocaust. Holocaust denial isn't a "controversial opinion" - it's a crime in Poland and much of the EU. Braun has built a political career on it anyway. It's time he is finally held accountable.

Iran and its proxies are once again putting regional security, global commerce, and civilian lives at risk. This latest round of escalation began with Iran threatening commercial shipping and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. After U.S. forces responded against Iranian maritime and military targets, Tehran retaliated by attacking ships and U.S. forces in the region, while its Houthi proxies intensified attacks on Saudi Arabia. The responsibility for this escalation lies with Tehran.

Facts matter: 386 European higher education institutions are currently involved in 205 Horizon Europe projects with Israeli entities linked to defence technologies, while 34 universities participate in 38 newer projects worth €15 million in EU funding. AJC is deeply concerned by today’s joint statement from 12 governments announcing plans to introduce or support restrictions on trade with Israeli settlements in the West Bank, as well as by the UK government’s decision to characterize the situation in the West Bank as “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians. There is no question that violence by Israeli extremists in the West Bank must be condemned and that those responsible must be held accountable. AJC has spoken forcefully on this issue. But the path to a better future for Israelis and Palestinians runs through diplomacy, dialogue, and direct negotiations, not economic isolation. Shocking: An aid worker over whose death Belgium summoned Israel’s ambassador, was a Hamas fighter in the Khan Younis Brigade, new evidence now suggests. Abdallah Nabhan was an employee of Belgium’s development agency Enabel, working on an EU-funded project in Gaza. He was reportedly even included on a list of people proposed for evacuation from Gaza to Belgium. A channel affiliated with the Khan Younis Brigade described him as a “mujahid” and published an image of him in uniform.
