In Peshawar the mobile signals have been deliberately extinguished, not for security, not for public order, but so that the eyes of the world, particularly the sharp-eyed social-media voices of Iran and Yemen, may not witness what is unfolding.
Above all, so that Mohammed bin Salman, the same prince who treats the slaughter of Yemeni children as a refined art form, the same man who after the judicial murder of Mohamed Morsi now keeps Imran Khan caged, the same architect whose money and patronage keep this Wahhabi, Israel-aligned regime on life-support, may be spared the inconvenience of seeing these scenes.
He watches Yemeni social media with the anxious attention of a man who knows his crimes travel faster than his denials. And right now those same Yemeni voices, speaking in Arabic across the Arab world, are elevating Sohail Afridi’s Long March with a clarity and reach that even the PTI itself has not managed.
Yemen is pure love. ❤️
