The great irony is that most of the people telling us that pensioners are ‘privileged’ and that the state pension in its current form is ‘unaffordable’ are all very privileged themselves. Routinely privately & university educated, well-connected with family connections in media and/or politics, media fast-tracked in their 20s and regular ‘pundits’ on tv couches and BBC Question Time when still in their 20s/30s.
These are the privileged ones.
Not old folk having to survive off one of the lowest state pensions in Europe.
