⚠️ ALERT: @bitget just confirmed a $351.6M security breach. The exchange says unauthorized transfers hit parts of its hot and warm wallet infrastructure, while its cold wallets remain secure. Withdrawals have been temporarily suspended, but deposits and trading remain operational. Bitget says its $464M+ User Protection Fund covers the affected amount and that law enforcement and onchain security firms have been notified. The attack vector remains unknown, with Bitget saying a full incident report will follow within 24 hours.

Bitget’s hot wallet was compromised in an attack involving roughly $350M in assets. @Bitget says the attacker didn’t obtain private keys. Instead, a critical wallet backend was compromised, allowing the attacker to forge transfer data and trigger the signing process. Cold wallets reportedly remain untouched, and Bitget says its $464M+ User Protection Fund can cover the affected amount. Another reminder that crypto security isn’t just about protecting private keys. The infrastructure around them can be just as critical. Stay safe. Don’t keep all your crypto on a CEX. Not your keys, not your crypto.

The United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 just moved its national digital identity infrastructure onto @avax. UAE Pass serves 12.5 million residents and visitors, across 15,000+ services and 350+ government and private entities. Its Digital Vault, the core verification layer, now runs on a dedicated Avalanche L1, built with @AvaLabs and Deca4. This isn’t a pilot. It’s a live government identity system choosing blockchain infrastructure for scale, performance and isolation. And it follows a bigger trend. California already put 42 million vehicle titles on a custom Avalanche L1. Governments are no longer just experimenting with blockchain. They’re starting to build critical infrastructure on it.
