I quite like David King’s honesty—prelim week is the best week with the exception of cox plate, derby & champions day…in another words: I quite like footy but gee whiz give me punting on group 1 horses & beers with the sun shining & not having to work any day over anything else

I personally love Grand Final Day but I get why he’d say that Melbourne Cup Day lost a lot of relevance for me last 10 or so years I no longer no anymore that takes the day off, 15-20 years ago we all did
