Luis Tiant pitched 14+ in a CG loss. Bobby Winkles got fired two weeks later.

For him it is obvious. If baseball had not have existed they would have had to invent it. But let's be honest. They are very very unlikely to have come up with the stitching on the ball. Makes you wonder if that was Darwin or SOMETHING ELSE.

That’s like 3 starts for poor Tarik and then he needs to skip a start to rest.

If he did that in 1920 we would say like Walter Johnson, he didnt throw that hard and couldn't do that now. Some players are just special, Ruth, Koufax, Wilt. Jim Brown, Bo, Gretzky.

That wore him out so much that in his next three starts he only pitched 24 innings with 23 strikeouts, recording 3 wins and two complete games (one a shutout).

Hey, my dad's birthday. He would have turned 32 that year and Nolan Ryan pitched 332.2 innings that season which has 32 in it 😁
