The
@jockeyclub requires New York to operate under its own set of rules for racing silks, while owners racing in other states are basically free to design their silks as they wish.
In New York, owners face multiple restrictions - including being limited to just three letters on their silks.
My guess is these rules date back to an ancient era of regulation and control that serves no real purpose today. It’s time for The Jockey Club to let go of this power and allow NYRA to give owners the same freedom to design their silks that they have everywhere else.

@gogogreys, we actually had to make TWO different sets - one for New York and one for everywhere else.
It’s 2026. This is ridiculous.
This seems like a simple fix. Let’s fix it for everyone.
